PRO OUTLAW DOORSLAMMERS RULES

Click here for Technical Inspection Form. Please fill the form out COMPLETELY. This form MUST be completed and presented at the time of the race in order to compete.
THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS REQUIREMENT!

Pro Outlaw Doorslammers 2009 Rules

  1. IHRA Top Sportsman safety rules will be used as a guideline. There will be a onetime complete Technical inspection of your race vehicle at the first race entered. If there are any infractions, you will have until the next race to take corrective action. The Pro Outlaw Doorslammers Race Director will make random inspections for safety equipment at each race. “Examples”: Engine Diaper, Full Face Helmet, Neck Collar or Hans Device, Gloves, Jacket, pants, and Shoes are required to whatever SFI specification applies to your car/engine combination. If safety rules are not met, you will not race until you take corrective action.

  2. Valid IHRA/NHRA Competition license required. Medical physical mandatory.

  3. The Pro Outlaw Doorslammers decal must be displayed on the participating entry. Decals are supplied with membership. If you do not have one, contact the race director.

  4. Only full body cars or trucks with working doors are allowed.

  5. Each car must have a ground clearance of 3” from front of car to 12” behind centerline of front axle.

  6. No weight limit.

  7. Any Transmission type is allowed. Automatic transmission must have neutral safety start switch and reverse lockout. Standard transmissions must have neutral gear. All entries with pressurized transmissions must have interior sheet metal tunnel isolating driver’s compartment from unit.

  8. Any cubic inch engine allowed. Roots Supercharger (Screw Superchargers Prohibited), Prochargers, Turbos and Electronic Fuel Injection allowed. No limit on nitrous stages.

  9. You must be in staging lanes on time. If an issue arises which affects your ability to reach the staging lanes, find the Race Director and explain your situation. Some exceptions are necessary to maintain the quality of the show. (Example: Someone has your pit or car blocked).

  10. Each driver “Must” deploy their parachute on a complete run.

  11. Shakedown runs are allowed before qualifying begins. Once qualifying starts, no further shakedown passes are allowed.

  12. One qualifying run is mandatory. In the event that the field is not complete/full, the mandatory qualifying rule will be waived and the entry will be added to the bottom of the ladder. Any further qualifying runs are at the discretion of the team.

  13. Qualifying runs will be made side-by-side alternating lanes for each subsequent run. (Numbers will be drawn to determine the first 4 qualifiers).

  14. Pre-stage rule enforced. Both lanes must be pre-staged before either driver can fully stage. If a driver turns on both bulbs (Pre-stage and Stage) before the other driver has pre-staged, the non-staged driver should not stage. Courtesy staging will be enforced.

  15. In the event of a red light in qualifying, the elapsed time for the run will count toward qualification.

  16. If you break during qualifying and back off the line, you will have until the last car goes down the track for a chance to qualify in that session.

  17. If you cannot crank in the staging lanes during eliminations, you will have 2 minutes to get the car started and come to the line.

  18. Eliminations will consist of a 16-car field. If a qualified car breaks before the first round of eliminations an alternate will be placed in the broken car’s slot.
Alternates inserted into the field after a qualified member has broken will receive show-up points and points for each round won. Alternates will NOT receive qualifying points or qualifying purse, these will remain with the original qualifier. The Alternate will receive subsequent round money and points.

  19. Eliminations will be run on a Pro ladder. If there is not a 16-car field, then all cars will run and the ladder will be adjusted to accommodate the number of cars. If you have a bye run in eliminations, you MUST break the beam in order to move on to the next round.

  20. Low qualifier of each pairing gets lane choice. If you have lane choice, you can change that choice only before pulling into the burnout box. Once in the burnout box, you are obligated to that lane. The only exception is if a car breaks in front of you causing a stop in the race program for cleanup, you can then change lanes if so desired.

  21. An event is considered “in the books” once the first round of eliminations is complete. If the race ends for any reason after the first round is finished, the race is considered complete. The purse will be split between the remaining competitors.

  22. If a race is rained out before the completion of the first round, it is considered a “Rain-out” and qualifying starts over IF the race is rescheduled on the rain-out date.

  23. Decisions made at the track by the Race Director are final.
